About Us

A statue of a deer outside the Elks Lodge.

Ask anyone who's pulled up a stool at Elks Lodge #1137 on a Friday night, and they'll tell you the same thing: the T-bone is worth the drive. Tucked off Elks Drive in Dickinson, this lodge has been a gathering point for working families, veterans, and neighbors who want something more than a bar, more than a banquet hall, and more than a civic club. It's all three, under one roof, with a kitchen that earns its reputation one plate at a time.

The 107-member reviews that average 4.1 stars don't tell the whole story, but they hint at it. Regulars rave about the T-bone steak, the friendly bar staff who remember your drink, and the kind of comfortable atmosphere you don't have to dress up for. The dining room fills fast on event nights, and the kitchen keeps pace. Service is personal here, sometimes a little too personal, which means the staff genuinely enjoys talking to the people they serve.

Beyond the dining room, Lodge #1137 channels its energy into community programs that benefit Dickinson and the broader southwest North Dakota region. From youth scholarships to veterans' support, the Elks mission runs deeper than membership cards. Becoming a member means joining something that matters long after the last round is poured.

What We Offer

The lodge operates a full-service dining room and bar open to members and their guests, serving hearty American fare that leans into North Dakota appetite: steaks cut thick, drinks poured honest, and specials that rotate with the season. The T-bone draws repeat visits on its own, and the bar staff takes genuine pride in crafting cocktails that go beyond the basics.

Beyond the plate, Lodge #1137 hosts banquets, private events, and member gatherings in a spacious facility built for real celebrations, not just small-group dinners. The hall is available for milestone events, fundraisers, and community meetings. Members also gain access to the full network of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks programs, including youth activities, charitable giving campaigns, and veterans' outreach across the country.

Membership applications are open to American citizens who believe in the Elks' core values of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. Prospective members can reach out through the lodge's Facebook page or stop by during open hours to learn more about joining one of Dickinson's most enduring civic organizations.

"Food was ok definitely not worth the cost. Waitress was friendly, but was more concerned with sitting down talking to another table than doing her rounds. I’ve been in the service industry for a long time and what she gave was not service. Almost felt like her tables were an inconvenience. Needs to be retrained or find a different profession. Won’t be back."

"Enjoyed the 1137 ribeye and salad bar. Au gratin potatoes were disappointing. Guess I was remembering the au gratin potatoes from the past. We were there on a Friday evening with a party of 10 with a reservation. Service was good and food came out in a timely manner but I would have liked it hotter out of the kitchen. A good evening with friends."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
